The Buffaloes went to Perrin-Whitt Friday night to take on the Pirates for a birth into the playoffs. After coming out sluggish in the first half, the Buffaloes came out and took a 21 – 14 victory to earn a spot in the playoffs.
The Buffaloes went up against a heavy senior-powered team in Perrin Friday, but dispite giving up a couple of big plays, the Buffaloes dominated the Pirates and came from behind to win and get the final playoff spot.
The defense had a tramendous night and came up big late in the game for the Buffaloes. Perrin was stuffed in the second half, and Joe Revoir came in and shut down a potential game closer for the Pirates, as he tackled the runningback for a lose on a big 4th down and short late in the game. J.C. McDonald had a big interception to stop a drive where the Pirates started on the Buffalo 35 yard line, and ended the threat. James Briggs and Kaiden Petree were stuffing plays all night and help the Pirates to turnovers and bad decisions. The Buffaloes held Perrin to 192 yards total, a majority of those coming in the first half.
Offensivley, the first half was sluggish but came alive in the 2nd half. Rylan Laminack had 7 carries for 33 yards, and 1 catch for a score that was called back due to a questionable penalty. Kaiden Petree had 14 carries for 44 yards and 1 touchdown. JC McDonald had 1 big catch for 48 yards and gave the Buffaloes life to start the 2nd half. Holden Senclair had 8 runs for 29 yards and threw 4 for 7 for 56 yards. Creed Goode had a big night carrying the ball with 8 runs for 116 yards, with 2 big runs of 45 and 61 yards, both ending with the score.
The Buffaloes made the playoffs and will now play Seymour Friday Night @ Sweetwater starting at 7:30. GO BUFFALOES!
