The Cross Plains Buffaloes went to Robert Lee Tuesday night to play the Steers and came out ahead. The Buffaloes came out to a slow start and then found the momentum they needed to push past the Steers to a 39 -29 victory.
Early, The Steers came out and got on top early, taking a 6-2 lead. Then, the Buffaloes woke up and continued to dominate the rest of the game. The Buffaloes went on a 7-2 run on their own to close the 1st period. The 2nd quarter proved to be much of the same as the Buffaloes came on strong and taking control of the half. The Steers hit a last second shot to end the half and send the Buffaloes in up 23 – 17. In the 2nd half, the Buffaloes used defense to stop the Steers from getting inside and worked the ball to James Briggs, who led the team in scoring and rebounds for the night, having 12 and 10. The defense was strong and held an 18 point lead late in the 4th quarter, eventually holding on to the win with a 39 -29 victory.
