Buffaloes News · J.V. Boys Football

The J.V. Boys went to Irion County Thursday Night and had a hard fought battle. Both teams held each other out of the end zone the first half as the score was 0-0. The defense were both strong and didn’t give any ground throughout the night. In the 3rd quarter, Irion County broke a busted play and the quarterback ran for about a 40 yard run, cutting across the field for the only score of the night. Offensively, the Buffaloes couldn’t quite get in sync and any big play to start momentum, was called back for a penalty. Irion County went on to win the game 8-0.

The second half, the Indians went up 30-14 early and looked to be in control. Then, the Buffaloes came back and scored quickly to make the game 30-20, missing the 2 point conversion. Immediately followed was a 50 yard throw and catch to Sterling Switzer from Bryce Petree for the score, making the game 30-26.

Bryce Petree, who threw for over 200 yards was a force on offense, and spread the to all of his weapons, converting with Trent Potter, Sterling Switzer, and Ethan Jones multiple times throughout the game.
